Belgium polls show rise in far-right and far-left support

A recent joint poll conducted by RTL, Le Soir, VTM, and HLN indicates a rise in support for political extremes across Belgium.

In the Dutch-speaking Flanders region, the far-right Vlaams Belang has risen to 27.8%, marking its strongest result since the 2024 elections. This places the party ahead of the conservative N-VA, led by Prime Minister Bart De Wever, which currently holds 23% support. Other Flemish parties include CD&V at 13.3%, Vooruit at 12.9%, and the far-left PVDA at 10%.

In Wallonia, the Socialist Party (PS) maintains a significant lead with 29% support. The liberal MR follows with 20.3%, while the PVDA (18.9%) and the centrist Les Engagés (17.6%) are closely competing for third place. Support for Ecolo remains at 8.9%.

In Brussels, the far-left PVDA remains the largest political force with 21.4% support, though this represents a slight decrease. The PS follows closely at 20.3%. The MR holds 15.5% in the capital, while Ecolo and Les Engagés hold 9.9% and 9.5% respectively. DéFI maintains its position just above the electoral threshold at 5.2%.
