Belgium wins silver in show jumping at FEI World Championships

The Belgian show jumping team, known as the Red Musketeers, secured the silver medal at the FEI World Championships in Aachen, Germany. The team, consisting of Nicola Philippaerts, Pieter Devos, Thibeau Spits, and Abdel Saïd, earned the podium finish during the team competition held under the stadium floodlights.

In addition to the silver medal, the performance guaranteed Belgium a direct team qualification ticket for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. This marks the third Belgian team to secure an Olympic ticket during this World Championship, following the dressage and eventing squads.

The competition was decided in the final round. After Nicola Philippaerts and Pieter Devos incurred faults, Thibeau Spits delivered a clear round to keep the medal hopes alive. Abdel Saïd completed the mission with a faultless round under significant pressure, securing second place for the nation.
