Belgium's chocolate gift for PM Modi damaged in transit

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever announced that a chocolate replica of the India Gate, intended as a gift for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was damaged during transit to India.

The sculpture, crafted from high-quality Belgian chocolate, was designed to honor more than 9,000 Indian soldiers who fought and died in the Flanders region of Belgium during World War I. De Wever joked about the mishap during a joint press conference, noting that while chocolate is excellent for diplomacy, it is not ideal for diplomatic travel.

Despite the damaged gift, the two leaders agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation in defense, combating organized crime, and renewable energy to boost trade. De Wever also extended an invitation for Prime Minister Modi to visit Belgium, promising that a replacement replica would eventually reach him in one piece.
