Belgium's Red Panthers secure historic bronze at field hockey World Cup

The Belgian women’s national field hockey team, the Red Panthers, secured a historic bronze medal at the World Cup held in Wavre. Despite the achievement, players expressed frustration regarding the specific medal color, noting they competed closely with top-ranked teams like the Netherlands and Argentina.

Players such as Lotte Englebert and Alix Gernie highlighted the team's growing solidarity and collective mindset, drawing inspiration from the previous success of the Red Lions. The tournament, hosted at the Belfius Hockey Arena, saw significant local engagement with approximately 10,000 spectators attending the events.
