Belgrade BeleF and Sarajevo Soundscape Festivals Host Classical Concerts

The 33rd edition of Belgrade’s summer BELEF festival runs a series of free concerts and stage performances in early July. Highlights include the “Duo Harfi” recital by harpists Aleksandra Petrović and Olga Marković on July 5 at the Konak kneginje Ljubice, a concert by the School for Musical Talent from Ćuprija on July 9 at the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, and the monodrama “Pupin – istorija velikana” on July 14. The program showcases works by composers such as Hindemith, Vivaldi, Bartók and contemporary Serbian creators, and targets audiences ranging from children to adult music lovers.

In Sarajevo, the SA Sinfonietta quartet performed at the garden of the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts as part of the Soundscape – Sarajevo Summer Fest. The concert featured violinists Tamara Arsovski and Alma Dizdar, violist Aida Deljkić and cellist Belma Alić, presenting music from Mozart’s Classical era through Grieg, Holst, and a series of tangos blending Balkan, blues and cinematic elements. The program illustrated the versatility of string ensembles across styles and epochs.
