Belgrade cleaning services see surge in demand and rising rates

Demand for cleaning services in Belgrade has reached a level where appointments are often booked several weeks in advance. Regular apartment maintenance typically costs around 1,200 dinars per hour, while more intensive general cleaning—which includes tasks such as moving furniture or cleaning after painting—can cost between 1,500 and 1,600 dinars per hour.

Beyond standard cleaning, clients are increasingly hiring workers for additional household tasks, including cooking, ironing, grocery shopping, and preparing for traditional celebrations. For many workers, such as retirees with low pensions or those seeking supplemental income, these services provide a vital financial cushion, sometimes equaling the cost of monthly rent.

The commercial sector also shows significant activity. Approximately 130 specialized cleaning agencies operate in Belgrade. Monthly maintenance for small business premises costs around 40,000 dinars, while larger spaces can cost between 50,000 and 60,000 dinars.
