Belgrade conducts mosquito control operations in Grocka and surrounding areas

JKP "Gradska Čistoća" is conducting an extensive mosquito control campaign across various locations in Belgrade, including Grocka, Vinča, Ritopek, and Vrčin. The treatments involve spraying land and water surfaces to reduce adult mosquito populations.

The operations are scheduled to take place in the early morning hours, specifically between 3:30 AM and 7:00 AM, provided weather conditions remain stable without heavy rain or strong winds. Locations targeted include the Danube banks, Gročanska Ada, Brestovik, Veliko Selo, Surtčin, and several urban residential areas such as Zelenobrd and Voždovac.

Authorities have issued a specific appeal to beekeepers to take necessary precautions to protect hives during the spraying. Residents are also advised to remove standing water from yards—such as from flowerpot saucers, tires, or old barrels—to prevent breeding. The biocides used are registered with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and are deemed safe for human health.
