Belgrade Court Returns Suspects to Custody in Senjak Murder Case

The Belgrade Appellate Court has accepted an appeal from the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the murder of Aleksandar Nešović, which occurred on May 12, 2026, at the ‘27’ restaurant in Senjak.

As a result of the ruling, three suspects—Mario S., Nenad L., and Dejan S.—have been returned to custody at the Belgrade District Prison. This decision overturns a previous ruling by the Higher Court that had replaced their detention with house arrest under electronic monitoring.

The prosecution argued that the suspects should remain in custody to prevent the repetition of criminal offenses and cited the risk of flight regarding Mario S. The indictment includes Saša Vuković for murder and the illegal possession of weapons and explosives, while the other three are charged with aiding the perpetrator after the crime.
