Belgrade entrepreneurs focus on professional transitions and deep-tech AI

In Belgrade, local entrepreneurship and technology development are being highlighted through various professional journeys and technical advancements.

Sanja Rašić, a former banking professional with over two decades of experience, has transitioned into entrepreneurship as a specialized virtual assistant. Her journey involved a year-long transition period, balancing corporate work with her own business to overcome professional uncertainties and imposter syndrome.

In the deep-tech sector, Jovan Kiš, co-founder of UkisAI, is discussing the feasibility of building AI startups in Belgrade. UkisAI focuses on transforming open-weights models into small, efficient, and task-specific models through additional training. The company recently released a dataset of approximately 15,200 agentic traces for coding and software engineering to assist in model development. Kiš, who chose to remain in Belgrade after opportunities in San Francisco, advocates for the trend of models becoming smaller, more efficient, and more affordable.
