Belgrade metro tunnel boring machines depart China for Serbia
Two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM), manufactured by CRCHI, have departed from China to begin work on the first line of the Belgrade metro in Serbia. The machines are expected to arrive in Europe by October, after which they will be transported via the Danube River to Belgrade.
The project involves excavating approximately 11 kilometers of underground tunnels. The work will be divided into two sections to allow for parallel excavation: one machine will start at the Bele Vode station in Makiš heading toward Sajam, while the second will begin at Karaburma near the Pančevo Bridge. This dual-sided approach is intended to increase efficiency during this technically demanding phase of construction.
