Belgrade municipality launches mosquito‑control fogging operations

On Monday, 8 June, the Ecology and Environment Improvement sector of the public utility JKP "Gradska čistoća" will begin thermal and cold‑fog treatments to suppress adult mosquitoes on public areas throughout Belgrade. The programme, scheduled to start at 17:00, will cover locations such as Ada Huja, the Paradajz island near Višnjica, the stretches between Pupin and Pančevački bridges, and districts including Barajevo, Šiljakovac, Baćevac, Guncati and many others.

If weather permits – clear skies, optimal temperature and low wind – the operations will continue on Tuesday, 9 June, extending to additional sites like Pančevački bridge to Crvenka, Jojkićev Dunavac, Obrenovac neighbourhoods and Lazarevac settlements. The biocidal product used is registered with Serbia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and listed on the temporary biocide products list, so officials assure residents there is no health risk. Citizens are asked to cooperate with the crews and may report heavy mosquito presence via the city service centre number 11‑0‑11 or the official email and Instagram channels.
