Belgrade offers a diverse cultural landscape and historic landmarks

Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is characterized by a diverse architectural and cultural landscape shaped by its history under the Habsburg, Ottoman, and socialist eras. The city sits at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, featuring unique elements such as the 'Splavovi'—floating bars and restaurants along the riverbanks.

A central landmark is the Kalemegdan Fortress and park, located on a limestone hill where the Sava meets the Danube. The site has a 2,000-year history, having been inhabited by Celts and used as a Roman military camp before being expanded by Byzantine, Habsburg, and Ottoman rulers. Today, the fortress serves as a major park and historical site, featuring the 'Pobednik' (The Victor) bronze sculpture.
