Belgrade police unit members arrested over 2025 Steak & Wine Bar shooting
On 5 November 2025 a gunfire incident occurred inside the Steak and Wine Bar in Belgrade during a bar‑room brawl. Police officers from Interventna jedinica 92 of the Belgrade Police Directorate are accused of using their positions to conceal the shooting.
Serbian prosecutors have arrested several members of the unit, including deputy commander Mitar J, assistant commander Jugoslav S, team leader Nenad S, as well as the restaurant’s director Darko Ž. Earlier arrests also covered the unit’s commander Dušan N and team leader Nikola K, who were placed in pre‑trial detention for up to 30 days, with electronic monitoring and travel restrictions proposed for some.
The suspects face charges such as abuse of official position, obstruction of justice, illegal possession and use of firearms, and failure to report the crime. Saša V, already in custody for a separate homicide, is also being questioned in connection with the incident. The investigation is being handled by the Special Anti‑Corruption Department of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade.
