Belgrade Prosecutor Seeks Files on Ušće Drift Accident Involving Injured Passenger

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade (VJT) has requested the case files from the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office concerning N.T., who is suspected of committing a serious traffic safety offence on 22 July 2026 at around 03:30 at the Ušće roundabout. According to the request, N.T. allegedly drifted at about 200 km/h, lost control, struck a barrier and collided with a vehicle carrying passenger M.N., who sustained severe injuries, including fractures of the pelvis and a pneumothorax. After the crash, N.T., accompanied by his father – a professional racer – removed the car from the scene without calling police. The VJT also demanded a written explanation for why pre‑trial detention was not sought, noting that the suspect attempted to erase evidence and obstruct the investigation.

The prosecutor’s request signals a deeper probe into the alleged reckless driving and the handling of the crash site, with the case still under investigation.
