Belgrade prosecutors deny use of sonic weapon in March 15 incident

Miodrag Marković, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, has stated that investigations conclude no sonic weapon or similar acoustic device was used during the events of March 15. Following an analysis of approximately 70 video recordings from social media, city cameras, and news outlets, prosecutors claim that specific footage featuring sounds resembling a jet engine or rocket was digitally manipulated and that the audio was added after the fact.

The prosecution noted that the Republic Seismological Institute did not detect any unusual acoustic anomalies during the period in question. Marković emphasized that the office has compiled a 36-page analysis and extensive evidence to protect the constitutional order of Serbia.

Marković has pledged that those responsible for fabricating the incident and causing public panic will face criminal prosecution, stating, “I promise that all perpetrators of these criminal acts will be prosecuted and no one will get away with it.” The investigation follows previous police actions involving journalists and political figures linked to the spread of the claims.
