Belgrade restaurant “27” murder investigation leads to new arrests and body discovery

Investigators probing the May 12 killing of Aleksandar Nešović at the “27” restaurant in Belgrade’s Senjak district have arrested a further suspect, bringing the total to ten people, including former police chief Veselin Milić. During a fresh search of the premises, police also recovered a projectile.

A body believed to be Nešović’s was later found in a dugout near Indjija, about 50 km from Belgrade, and has been sent for autopsy and DNA verification. Interior Minister Ivica Dačić publicly rejected calls for his resignation, stating he bears no responsibility for the crime. The investigation continues under the supervision of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade.
