Belgrano proposes comprehensive modernization of club statutes

Belgrano has presented a project for the comprehensive modernization of its Social Statute, aiming to update the club's regulations for the first time in three decades. The proposal reaffirms the institution's status as a non-profit civil association.

Key changes include restructuring government terms, extending mandates from three to four years and allowing up to two consecutive terms. The project also proposes increasing the number of vice presidents from three to five and adjusting the number of titular members. Regarding membership, the current ten categories would be reduced to three age-based categories, plus life members. Additionally, the minimum voting age would be lowered to 16 to encourage participation.

The Assembly would gain increased decision-making power over matters such as the sale or mortgaging of real estate, infrastructure financing, and the signing of sports contracts. The project also addresses the official recognition of branches, stricter accountability, and tools for protecting institutional assets. The proposal will be put to a vote at the Extraordinary General Assembly scheduled for September 15.
