Boca Juniors to relocate home matches from La Bombonera to Ducó stadium
Boca Juniors announced that, because of the deteriorated condition of the La Bombonera pitch, the club will temporarily move its home games to the Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó, the ground of Club Huracán. The decision follows heavy rains and ongoing drainage and resowing work that have delayed the restoration of the playing surface. Boca evaluated several alternatives, including the stadiums of Racing, Lanús and Vélez, before confirming the Ducó as the preferred venue.
The relocation will affect the upcoming fixtures in the Torneo Clausura, starting with the postponed match against Estudiantes de La Plata, and will also be used for the next league games against Vélez Sarsfield and the Copa Sudamericana knockout ties. Club officials said the move will give the works the time needed to complete the structural drainage near the preferred boxes and to achieve a uniform grass cover before the end of August.
Boca’s communication emphasized that the temporary shift aims to avoid further damage to the field and to ensure safe playing conditions for the remainder of the season.
