Beliș area inaugurates two new mountain hiking trails

The Cluj County Salvamont-Salvaspeo Public Service and Emerson have completed the development of two new mountain tourist trails in the Beliș area. To mark the inauguration, guided tours will be provided by mountain rescuers and Emerson volunteers on Saturday, October 24.

The first route, marked with a yellow cross, is an easy 7-8 kilometer circuit (Beliș – Pârâul Rece – Vârful Pipaș – Beliș) designed for light hiking, taking approximately 3-4 hours to complete. It features a viewpoint on Pipaș Peak and the shores of Lake Beliș.

The second route, marked with a blue dot, is a more challenging 21-kilometer circuit starting from Beliș village. It ascends to Măgura Călățele, the highest peak in the area at 1,404 meters, before descending toward Bălcești and returning via Pipaș Peak and the lake. This trek involves an 800-meter elevation gain and is estimated to take 7-9 hours.
