Belinda Davids to star in South African debut of The Bodyguard musical

Singer Belinda Davids will make her musical theatre debut starring as Rachel Marron in the South African production of ‘The Bodyguard The Musical’. The international production is scheduled to make its local debut in March 2027.

The show will open at Artscape in Cape Town on March 12, before transferring to the Teatro at Montecasino in Johannesburg on April 24. Based on the 1992 film, the musical features the hits of Whitney Houston, including ‘I Will Always Love You’ and ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’.

Davids, a former finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, will be supported by an all-South African cast, crew, and band. Showtime Management noted that Davids has built a global reputation for her ability to perform Houston’s repertoire with significant vocal power.
