Belize and India Mobilize Flood Relief as Heavy Rains Cause Damage

In Belize, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing deployed teams to repair bridges, clear drains and restore flood‑affected roads in Belmopan, Cayo, Stann Creek, Dangriga and the Toledo district after a tropical wave brought widespread flooding. Chief Engineer Evondale Moody reported the replacement of a washed‑out wooden bridge and the use of heavy equipment to open clogged inlets and outlets.

In India, monsoon rains triggered landslides and flash floods across several states. A doctor, Naveen Dimri, was killed while inspecting repair work at a health centre in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. The India Meteorological Department issued alerts for heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and other regions, while rescue teams continued searching for missing workers in a landslide‑hit tunnel project in Kerala.
