Bella Ramsey reflects on missed teenage rebellion

British actor Bella Ramsey has reflected on their youth, stating they wish they had been a more rebellious teenager. Having debuted in ‘Game of Thrones’ at age 11, Ramsey spent much of their adolescence working with adults and consciously avoided stereotypical teenage behavior to avoid criticism.

In the film ‘Sunny Dancer’, Ramsey plays Ivy, a cancer survivor in remission who attends a summer camp for young people affected by cancer. Ramsey described the filming process as a liberating opportunity to experience teenage freedom at age 21, noting that younger co-stars helped them learn about teenage culture, such as music and social activities.

The film was written and directed by George Jaques, who drew from personal experiences following his mother’s cancer diagnosis when he was 15. The production also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Gunning, and James Norton.
