Bella Thorne Takes On Writing, Directing and Lead Role for Spring Breakers 2

Actress Bella Thorne announced she will write, direct and star in the sequel to the 2012 cult film Spring Breakers. Producers approached her after viewing an early cut of her directorial debut, the coming‑of‑age thriller Color Your Hurt, and asked her to develop the follow‑up.

Thorne will work with the original producers Chris Hanley and Jordan Gertner and retain some of the original crew. The announced cast includes Grace Van Dien, Ariel Martin and True Whitaker. Thorne described the upcoming movie as “lit” and “balls to the wall,” emphasizing a chaotic, high‑energy tone.

The project marks Thorne’s first major studio‑backed feature as writer‑director, expanding her recent work that includes music‑video direction and short‑film awards nominations.
