BellaNaija celebrates 20 years of African storytelling in Lagos

Digital media platform BellaNaija celebrated its 20th anniversary with a star-studded gala at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. Founded by Uche Pedro in 2006, the platform has evolved from a lifestyle blog into a major media entity covering African entertainment, fashion, weddings, and culture.

The anniversary event, themed ‘High Fashion Icon’, featured a red carpet attended by Nigerian celebrities, entertainers, and creative industry professionals. The celebration highlighted the intersection of entertainment and fashion in Nigeria, showcasing diverse styles ranging from traditional Nigerian-inspired outfits to contemporary high fashion.

Over its two decades of operation, BellaNaija has documented significant cultural movements, including the global rise of Afrobeats and the evolution of Nollywood. Through its various branches, such as BellaNaija Weddings and BellaNaija Style, the platform has focused on amplifying African stories and providing visibility for emerging talent across the continent and the diaspora.
