Belle Vernon Legion Wins Opener, Then Loses to Greater Pittston in PA Playoffs
Belle Vernon opened the Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball playoffs by defeating host Williamsport 10‑6. The team built a 5‑0 lead early, added three insurance runs in the sixth inning and highlighted Jacob Peterson’s two RBIs and multiple hits, as well as contributions from Chase Petrosky and Jack Crovak. Manager Tom Jackson praised the early execution after the win.
The following day Belle Vernon fell 10‑3 to Greater Pittston in the double‑elimination round. Pittston took advantage of four hit batters and four errors by the Vernon staff, while pitcher Caleb Pavinski limited damage but still earned the win.
