Bellerive Country Club to host 2026 BMW Championship
The Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri, will host the 2026 BMW Championship from August 20 to 23. The event features the top 50 players from the PGA Tour, with the top 30 qualifying for the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club.
Following extensive renovations, the course has been transformed into a challenging par-70 layout measuring 7,448 yards. This setup is significantly longer than the 2018 PGA Championship layout, which was 132 yards shorter. The renovation includes the complete reconstruction of all greens using Creeping Bentgrass, along with updated bunkers and fairways.
Professional golfers, including Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, have noted that while the course may appear forgiving due to wide fairways and large greens, the difficulty lies in the precision required. The layout features twelve par-4 holes and only two par-5 holes, placing a premium on iron play. McIlroy noted that while current soft conditions may allow for lower scores, drying weather could increase the difficulty.
