Bellevue Light Rail Shuttle Begins Free Electric Service to Downtown
A free electric shuttle service, the Bellevue Light Rail Shuttle powered by Amazon, started operations on August 3, 2026. The pilot connects the Bellevue Downtown Light Rail Station with hotels, restaurants, shops and parks in the city’s BellHop service area, addressing the first‑mile/last‑mile gap for commuters without a car.
The shuttle runs Monday‑Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., using two Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric minibuses. Riders board at a designated area outside the station and tell the driver their destination; no reservation or app is required. The program is funded by Amazon and Visit Bellevue, with additional support from Circuit, the City of Bellevue and Sound Transit, and will operate through December 2026.
