Tukwila man charged with rape and robbery in Renton trail attack

Thomas Elijas Moss, a 23-year-old man from Tukwila, faces charges of second-degree rape, second-degree robbery, and second-degree assault with sexual motivation following an attack on a jogger in Renton.

The incident occurred on September 12 near the Seattle Sounders training facility. According to court documents, the victim was running on a trail when she was pushed to the ground by a man she had previously observed on a bicycle. The victim reported being strangled during the assault.

A King County Superior Court judge set Moss's bail at $1 million. He is currently being held at the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle and is scheduled for arraignment on September 23 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center.
