Bellinzona to host elite international athletics event

The GalAthletics athletics event will take place on August 30 at the Stadio Comunale in Bellinzona, featuring an elite international field including world, European, and Olympic champions.

Confirmed participants include Swiss athletes Audrey Werro, Ditaji Kambundji, Mujinga Kambundji, Angelica Moser, and Ricky Petrucciani. Audrey Werro, a recent European gold medalist in the 800m, is highlighted as a key figure for the competition.

To facilitate attendance from German-speaking Switzerland and Northern Italy, organizers have partnered with SBB to offer a 30 percent discount on train travel to Ticino for those traveling between August 28 and August 31. Additionally, ticket holders will have free access to public transportation throughout the Ticino region.
