Bello Mandiya, former Katsina South Senator, dies at 62

Former Senator Bello Mandiya, who represented the Katsina South Senatorial District from 2019 to 2023, has died in Abuja at the age of 62. The Katsina State Government confirmed his passing on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda expressed deep sadness over the death, describing Mandiya as a committed public servant whose passing is a significant loss to both the state and Nigeria. Before his tenure in the Senate, Mandiya served as the Chief of Staff to former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari.

Mandiya was scheduled to be buried in Abuja on Tuesday. The specific cause of death has not been disclosed.
