Belém de Maria Vice-Mayor assumes office after Mayor's removal

Genivaldo da Trilha (PT) has assumed the interim mayoralty of Belém de Maria following the removal of Mayor Beto do Sargento (PSD). The decision was issued by the Regional Federal Court as a result of ‘Operação Mamon’, an operation launched by the Federal Police.

In addition to the removal, the court order prohibits Beto do Sargento from accessing municipal offices. The ruling also extends restrictions to several other individuals, including Cristina Casale, Leonardo de Oliveira, Nathali Ribeiro, and Maria Jessica. The Vice-Mayor stated he intends to continue the current administration's work and focus on municipal development.
