Belém Electoral Law Forum to Address AI and Disinformation Ahead of Brazil's 2026 Election

The Regional Electoral Court of Pará (TRE‑PA) will host a three‑day Electoral Law Forum in Belém from 8 to 10 June 2026. Organized with the Pará chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association, the event will bring together judges, prosecutors, lawyers and other election‑law professionals to discuss how artificial intelligence, deep‑fakes, online propaganda and misinformation affect Brazil’s upcoming presidential election. Key sessions include lectures on digital campaign regulations, the legal responsibility for online content, and practical workshops on electoral accounting and eligibility criteria.

The forum aims to enhance collaboration between the electoral justice system and legal practitioners, offering case‑study analyses of recent Supreme Electoral Court decisions and exploring strategies to safeguard the integrity of the voting process in the digital era.
