Emergency services respond to grenade disposal in Portugal and vehicle collision in Brazil

In Setúbal, Portugal, the Public Security Police (PSP) successfully neutralized a defensive grenade discovered near a railway crossing. The Explosives and Underground Safety Inactivation Center (CIEXSS) performed a controlled detonation to eliminate the risk of explosion, which required temporary closures of local roads and railway traffic.

In Belém, Brazil, a collision occurred between a Fire Department vehicle and two motorcycles operated by SAMU agents. The accident, which took place at the intersection of Almirante Barroso and Doutor Freitas avenues, left two emergency responders injured. One agent is reported to be stable, while another suffered a leg fracture requiring surgery. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash, noting that the SAMU team was responding to an emergency with visual and audible signals activated.
