Belém Fire Prompts Municipal Aid for Affected Families
A fire broke out on Thursday morning in the Guamá neighbourhood of Belém, Pará, destroying four properties, including two houses, and causing minor injuries to one resident. The city’s Defence Civil quickly deployed emergency teams, and Mayor Igor Normando confirmed municipal monitoring since the incident began. Technical reports from Defence Civil will enable affected families to access social assistance programs, including emergency rental aid, through the municipal foundation Funpapa and the Sicape service.
The response includes on‑site medical care for the injured person, damage assessments, and coordination with local agencies to ensure the low‑income families receive the promised support.
