Belém hotel accused of sexual harassment against party militant
The Workers' Party (PT) in Pará has denounced an incident of sexual harassment involving a young party militant during a youth plenary session held on Saturday night at the Hotel Princesa Louçã in Belém. According to the party, the participant was touched without consent by an employee of the establishment.
The PT issued a note of repudiation, describing the episode as grave and demanding an investigation and accountability if the allegations are confirmed. The party further claimed that the victim did not receive adequate support from the hotel when seeking help and alleged an attempt at coercion.
Former Governor Ana Júlia Carepa criticized online reactions that mocked the incident, stating that political differences do not justify violence against women. As of the latest reports, the hotel has not issued a public statement, and there is no official information regarding a police report.
