Belém police detain suspects in femicide and stadium‑photo extortion cases

The Polícia Civil of Pará arrested a man in Belém on charges of electronic extortion after he used photographs taken at a football stadium to pressure a woman into making payments. Investigators from the State Directorate of Combating Cybercrime conducted a search and seizure at the suspect’s residence, confiscating a mobile phone for forensic analysis. The suspect remains in custody pending trial.

In a separate operation, the same police force captured the primary suspect in the murder of 27‑year‑old Amanda Letícia, whose body was found in the Cremação neighborhood of Belém. The arrest resulted from a joint effort by the Specialized Women’s Assistance Division and the Homicide Division after six days of investigation. Authorities linked the suspect to femicide and drug trafficking, seized narcotics and other evidence, and continue to examine the case under secrecy.
