Belém students join football project to promote social values

Eighty students at the Pedro Carneiro State School in Belém, Brazil, have integrated football into their daily routines through the ‘Vestindo Sonhos e Transformando Histórias’ project. The initiative, a partnership with the Instituto Futebol de Rua, provided students with sports kits to facilitate the practice of the sport.

The project aims to use football as a tool to promote discipline, collective work, and social coexistence. School director Lourdes Silva noted that the program complements existing school activities and can aid in discussions regarding peace culture, bullying, and racial prejudice.

Supported by Sicredi and Visa, the broader mobilization intends to reach approximately 3,200 children and adolescents across 40 Brazilian cities, including Manaus, Cuiabá, and Macapá.
