Belén de Escobar opens new Defensoría del Pueblo headquarters
The Defensoría del Pueblo de Escobar has opened a new headquarters located at Bernardo de Irigoyen 204 in the center of Belén de Escobar. The move aims to improve the quality of assistance, guidance, and support provided to local residents regarding various grievances.
Mayor Ariel Sujarchuk, accompanied by Ombudsman Carina Acro, inspected the new facilities. The organization currently handles approximately 300 inquiries per month. The most frequent issues reported by citizens include matters related to health and social security, public services and utility rates, community mediation, violence, disability, and elderly care.
Although the municipality provides the necessary resources for salaries, rent, and maintenance, the Defensoría del Pueblo operates with functional autonomy from the Executive Department to ensure independence in its duties.
