Josep Juanpere death investigation: Partner under scrutiny

Authorities are investigating the death of architect Josep Juanpere, who was found dead in his Baqueira residence on December 26. While an initial autopsy suggested death by cardiorespiratory arrest, subsequent forensic reports identified wounds across the neck compatible with 'external force.'

Belén López, Juanpere’s partner, is under investigation for homicide. She has avoided provisional prison by paying an 80,000 euro bail set by a court in Vielha. Additional precautionary measures include the surrender of her passport and a prohibition on leaving the territory. The investigation is examining whether there was an omission of assistance, noting that the relationship between the couple was reportedly 'certainly tense.'

In a separate legal matter, the Audiencia Nacional has ordered Juan Andrés González, husband of model Verónica Hidalgo, to remain in provisional prison. González is being investigated for alleged involvement in a criminal organization and money laundering. The decision follows a search of the couple's home where authorities seized 1.39 kilograms of hashish, 11,000 euros in cash, and high-end watches. Hidalgo has publicly denied any involvement in her husband's alleged activities.
