Belo Campo agroindustry begins cassava processing for 120 families

A new family-run agroindustry has begun operations in the Lagoa do Canto community in Belo Campo, Brazil. Managed by the Association of Small Rural Producers of Lagoa do Canto, the facility is designed to process cassava and produce various derivatives, including starch, flour, and baked goods.

The unit serves more than 120 farming families, providing equipment for root processing and a community kitchen. This infrastructure allows producers to add value to their raw materials and reduces the need to sell unprocessed cassava at lower prices or transport it long distances. Some of the production is already being directed to the National School Feeding Program (Pnae).
