Drivers and transport users in Belo Horizonte faced an average of 130 hours of traffic congestion during peak periods in 2025. This data, provided by mobility technology company TomTom, places the Minas Gerais capital among the Brazilian cities with the highest amount of time lost in traffic.

Belo Horizonte is currently tied with Recife for this ranking. It trails only Curitiba, which recorded 135 hours, and São Paulo, with 132 hours.
