Bahia police seize illegal drug shipments and luxury assets in sweeping crackdown

The Civil Police of Bahia confiscated a shipment of 124 ampoules of the weight‑loss drug tirzepatide, sold as Mounjaro, during a raid on an inter‑state bus in the ring road of Vitória da Conquista. The medication, used for type 2 diabetes, was being transported without required refrigeration or authorisation, prompting a contraband investigation.

In the city of Jequié, the same police force continued Operation Máscara, seizing a luxury vehicle valued at over R$ 90 000 and arresting a 46‑year‑old man on multiple counts of estelionato. Investigators allege the suspect used forged documents to create digital certificates that enabled the creation of fictitious companies and fraudulent loan applications.

Separately, the state court in Itanhém confirmed the definitive imprisonment of two individuals convicted of drug trafficking and related offences, with sentences exceeding 11 years each. The cases underline a broader effort by Bahian authorities to combat illegal drug distribution, financial fraud and organized crime.

All seized items and arrested suspects have been forwarded to police units for forensic analysis and further legal proceedings.
