Beloved Foundation receives 70 aid requests for Crans-Montana fire victims

The Beloved Foundation, established to support victims of the New Year's Eve fire at the ‘Le Constellation’ bar in Crans-Montana, has received approximately 70 requests for assistance. Foundation director Christian Cardon stated that while some applications have been approved and others are under review, there have been no rejections thus far. Tens of thousands of francs have already been disbursed.

The tragedy, which occurred in the canton of Valais, resulted in 41 deaths and 115 injuries. The foundation was launched on March 27 at the initiative of the Valais state and is supported by 24 million francs in donations and pledges from the cantons of Valais and Vaud, the municipality of Crans-Montana, and private donors.

Co-president Doris Leuthard explained that the foundation focuses on rehabilitation, reintegration, education, psychological support, and financial aid for families in need. The organization aims to fill gaps in existing federal victim assistance services rather than duplicating them. Despite its significant budget, the foundation is seeking additional funds to address long-term psychological and professional needs, such as vocational retraining for young victims.
