Belton twins release new dramedy series Friesenjunkies
Directors Emil and Oskar Belton, known for Die Discounter, have created a new tragicomic series titled Friesenjunkies. The eight-episode series is set in a fictional addiction clinic named Isebek located on the German island of Sylt.
The show explores themes of addiction, self-discovery, and friendship through a diverse group of nine patients in Group D. The narrative emphasizes that addiction transcends social class and age, featuring characters ranging from corporate executives to young adults.
The ensemble cast includes Martin Brambach, Nicole Heesters, Peter Kurth, Pheline Roggan, and Sylvie Meis. The series will be available on the ARD Mediathek starting this Friday, with the first broadcast on Das Erste scheduled for November 13 and 14.
