Belveder roundabout renovation nears completion in Slovenia
The renovation of the Belveder roundabout, a key traffic point between Izola, Strunjan, and Piran, is nearing completion. On October 16, the traffic light is scheduled for removal to restore two-way traffic.
The project, costing approximately 995,488 euros, aims to replace the existing temporary roundabout with a more permanent and efficient design. A significant feature is the addition of a bypass lane for vehicles traveling from the direction of Izola or Belveder toward Strunjan, which is intended to reduce congestion and traffic interference. The project also includes improvements to pedestrian areas to enhance safety.
Funding for the project is provided by the Directorate for Infrastructure (DRSI) with 803,824.87 euros, while the Municipality of Izola is contributing 191,663.77 euros.
