Spain community initiatives raise funds for Alzheimer's and rare diseases
Various community initiatives in Spain are raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's disease and rare diseases through sporting events and solidarity marches.
In Gandia, the XXVI Telemaratón Solidario del Alzheimer, organized by AFA La Safor, raised 11,975 euros to support programs for affected individuals and their families. Similarly, María Parra commemorated the one-year anniversary of her 92-kilometer run to bring visibility to Alzheimer's, announcing her intention to participate in a 24-hour event next year.
Other regional efforts include the XI Carrera y Marcha Solidaria by AFA Torrevieja and the II Carrera 5K organized by the Hospitalidad Santa Teresa Foundation in Cartagena to support vulnerable populations. In Belver de los Montes, a solidarity march for rare diseases raised 705 euros for the association Corriendo con el Corazón por Hugo.
