Bemobi parking meter launch faces technical issues and tariff criticism

The launch of a new parking meter management system by the company Bemobi has faced significant difficulties. On the first day of service, a national technical issue caused a widespread blackout, preventing meters from issuing tickets.

Following public criticism regarding high rates—set at 1.50 euros per hour in Zone A and 0.80 euros in Zone B—Mayor Clemente Mastella held a meeting with municipal officials and Bemobi representatives. The administration is now considering a revision of the tariffs and the introduction of concessions for citizens and employees of local public services who are required to park near their workplaces.
