Ben Affleck and Matt Damon attend ‘Animals’ premiere

Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Luciana Barroso attended the Los Angeles premiere of the Netflix thriller ‘Animals’ at the Westwood Village Theater on October 1, 2026. Affleck wrote, directed, and stars in the film, while Damon serves as a producer. Luciana Barroso, a partner at the production company Artists Equity, also holds a producer credit on the project.

The film’s production history involved a shift in casting; originally intended to star Damon, the role went to Affleck due to scheduling conflicts involving Damon’s work on ‘The Odyssey’. The premiere included cast members Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Adriana Paz, and Ray Fisher.

In a separate appearance at the Zurich Film Festival, Casey Affleck reflected on the long-standing friendship between the Affleck brothers and Damon. He noted that Damon exhibited a natural inclination toward the spotlight from a young age, participating in talent competitions while the Affleck brothers were still determining their career paths.
