Ben Affleck clarifies prosthetic use in ‘Gone Girl’ scene

Actor Ben Affleck has addressed long-standing viewer curiosity regarding his nude shower scene in the 2014 psychological thriller ‘Gone Girl’. In a recent interview with Variety, the Oscar winner confirmed that he did not use a prosthetic for the scene.

Affleck joked that the only prosthetic he has ever worn in his career was a nose for the film ‘Hollywoodland’. He also reflected on his professional relationship with director David Fincher, noting the high level of trust required for such scenes. Affleck described working with Fincher as a ‘great privilege’ and expressed his willingness to do whatever was necessary for the director’s vision.

The film, based on Gillian Flynn’s novel, stars Affleck alongside Rosamund Pike and was a significant critical and commercial success.
