Ben Affleck reveals Jennifer Garner declined role in his new film

Ben Affleck revealed during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ that his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, declined an offer to play his spouse in his upcoming film, ‘Animals.’ Affleck noted that Garner’s refusal was direct, stating, ‘Great, but no, I’m not gonna play your wife in a movie.’

Affleck explained that he had pursued Garner for the role because he believed she would be ‘amazing’ and thought it would offer practical benefits for their blended family by allowing them to coordinate schedules more easily. However, he ultimately agreed that recasting was the best decision to avoid the ‘baggage’ of an on-screen reunion.

The role has been taken by Kerry Washington. The project’s development also saw changes in the male lead; Matt Damon was originally attached to the film, but he exited to work on ‘The Odyssey’ after the production underwent concept changes to avoid similarities with another upcoming film.
